Trails Plan in Process

We are grateful for the time our community gave to provide comments at the open house, the online map and the recent survey. The resulting Potential Projects list and Potential Projects map reflect the improvements and projects requested by the public.

The survey is now closed. Thank you to all who participated. The draft final plan will be available for public review in the coming months. If you would like to receive updates, please email Trails@yakima.wa.us . The draft final plan will be available on the County website for public viewing in December.

For reference here is a list of the potential projects and corresponding maps:

Please Note: Yakima County plans the trails and pathways system to remain eligible for trail and multi-modal facility construction funding. Most trail and pathway projects will be incorporated with transportation projects whenever possible/feasible. In some circumstances, Yakima County may assist with the construction of trails and pathways, but ultimately trails and pathways not associated with roadways are turned over to others (i.e. Yakima Greenway Foundation) for operation and maintenance.

Feel free to scroll through the comment map below to review the initial public input received.
